Why do you need a backflow test?
analyze from the detail.
The reason a backflow device is installed on your property in the first place is that there is a condition that requires a backflow device. Conditions such as a hazardous chemical being used in a piece of equipment and the same piece of equipment also having an pump that could produce a back pressure condition. Pushing that hazardous chemical back into your home or business then into the main water supply.
With a backflow device like an Reduced Pressure Backflow Assembly (RPZ) installed in the proper location in the plumbing system. A backflow condition is stopped at the assembly which will prevent the hazard going into the water supply. Depending on the backflow assembly device installed and the possible hazardous/pollutant conditions that are present. That backflow assembly by city ordinance has to be tested to insure the backflow assembly’s internal parts are functioning according to the manufactures recommend specifications.
